Wondering what to read next?
Years ago, I started keeping track of what books I had read, because frankly, it’s not always easy to remember whether I’ve already read a book or not. Goodreads, which first became available in 2006, is great for that, as many of you probably already know. Amazon bought Goodreads in 2013, and since then it’s become an excellent hub for tracking one’s own reads, as well as how well you liked (or how much you didn’t like) them. It’s also a convenient place for following your favorite authors and for viewing reviews posted by fellow readers.
Recently I used my Goodreads account to compile more organized Amazon reading lists to share with others. Today I want to share the link to the books I gave five stars to and categorized as “Literary.” I'd say “Literary" as a book genre refers to stories that focus more on deep characters, big ideas, and beautiful writing than on fast-moving plots or simple entertainment. It’s like a slow-cooked meal—rich, thoughtful, and meant to make you feel and think deeply.
Please feel free to click over to My 5-Star Literary Book Recommendations if you’re looking for ideas for your next read. Each cover on the list will take you to that book’s description on Amazon. One note: I read plenty of secular fiction, as you’ll see. If you have questions about any of the books, please contact me using my site’s Contact page. I’ll answer as well as I can!
And I’ll post my 5-Star Recommendation lists for other genres in future posts. Happy reading!
